Activities & Clubs

At Santan Junior High School, we pride ourselves on giving every student a chance to get involved on our campus. To this end, we offer several student clubs for every interest. Check the list below to see which club is right for you and how you can get involved. For more information on the clubs below, click on one of the teacher sponsors and contact them directly. If you want to start a new club, contact a teacher and see if they'll sponsor it!

Note: To participate in the Dance Club, the student must be determined by a physician to be physically fit for the sport and complete the MTBI/Concussion Statement and Acknowledgement Form annually. See the link below. Documentation shall be on file with the Athletics and Activities Office. All paperwork must be submitted before any participation.

Students must have their own equipment

There will be a shuttle from campus to the course for each practice
Pickup will be parent responsibility
- Practice will conclude at 6:30/45 p.m.
The team will participate in tournaments
- Students must qualify for tournament participation

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

*Applications accepted at end of 7th grade year
Sponsors: Mrs. Amy Drake and Mrs. Marina Gissel

Quarter: 1st-4th Qtr

Meeting Times: One morning per month, usually Wednesdays

Location: Room 76

Club Fee: $20.00

The National Junior Honor Society is the leader among organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Scholarship:
You will be invited to apply for NJHS based off of high academic achievement throughout your 7th grade year. You must maintain high grades if you join NJHS.

Character:
During your membership in NJHS, you are expected to follow all school rules and to act with high character, which includes all the pillars of character: respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. You should not receive in behavior CARE infractions or any office referrals. Office referrals will result in immediate suspension from NJHS.

Leadership:
Acts of leadership can be small or large. We will work on developing your leadership skills during the year. What does being a leader mean to you?

Service:
Please remember that a minimum of 20 hours are required order to fulfill your commitment to NJHS.

Some ideas for service include...

Take a life saving class.
Ask a teacher to help before or after school.
Volunteer at a nursing home.
Run or walk in a charitable race.
Volunteer at sporting events.
Babysit for free.
Help a neighbor in need (cleaning, walking animals, etc.)
Tutor.
Help at the school dances.
Help at the quarterly sports banquets.
Make emergency kits for your home.
Collect money for a good cause.
Support the Fitness Works Fund raiser.
Support the animal drive (time & donations)
Help clean your local parks. Keep the community clean.
Read aloud to younger students (kinder-buddies)

Applications distributed via STORM Hour - April 13-15, 2026
Teacher Recommendation forms due to teachers - April 17, 2026
Completed Applications due to sponsors - April 24, 2026
Acceptance Letters Delivered - April 28, 2026
New Member Induction - First Week of May
